Headteacher's Welcome

Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi is a school where, with the help of a highly qualified, dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff, we consistently transform the lives of the young people. The values that underpin our work are respect, responsibility, and pride.

We believe in fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where every student counts and everyone
is treated with dignity and kindness. In our daily work, this means teaching our students the importance of
respecting themselves, their peers, teachers, and the wider community. We encourage open-mindedness,
empathy, and understanding, and we strive to create an atmosphere where all voices are heard and
valued.

By promoting responsibility, we empower our students to take ownership of their learning and personal
development. We promote a sense of responsibility for their own actions, choices, and the impact they
have on others.

In our daily work, we celebrate the achievements and progress of our students, both academically and
personally. We create opportunities for them to showcase their talents, skills, and efforts, fostering a sense of pride in their accomplishments. By nurturing their interests, we aim to develop confident individuals who are proud of their abilities and willing to pursue their aspirations.

In addition to our core values, we are committed to aligning our work with the four core purposes of the new curriculum for Wales. These purposes guide our approach to teaching and learning, ensuring that our students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for the challenges of the future.

We provide a curriculum that is engaging, challenging, and fosters a love of learning. We encourage them to develop a sense of social responsibility and how they can contribute positively to their community, country and the rest of the world.

We encourage our students to be curious, and to embrace new opportunities for learning. We provide a
range of activities and opportunities for students to engage in sports, arts, and other activities that
promote their well-being. Our aim to cultivate students' creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving
skills. We provide opportunities for them to collaborate, innovate, and take risks, preparing them to be
adaptable and resilient in an ever-changing world.

As we embark on implementing our new curriculum, we are excited to continue working closely with you,
in supporting your child's educational journey. Should you require further information or if you wish to
arrange a visit, please do not hesitate to contact us at the school. We can always provide you with a tour
of the school and meet some of our students so you can talk to them about their experiences.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to a successful and rewarding period ahead.
